WHO ARE YOU, REALLY?

How well do you "know yourself?"

How exactly is it that a mind can come to know itself?
Are “you” merely an idea? Is there, as a Buddhist might say, ‘no self?’

What could it mean to be ‘conscious?’ What is spirituality?
Why do we suffer? Is it wrong to desire?

What is freedom and what does it mean to be free? Does evil exist? Why are we here, and what is history and our world about anyway?

Did Jung have all the answers?
What are you beyond your identify, self-image and appearance?

Why are you here? And what are you doing?

In this seminal course of the MiC Know Yourself Programme, you’ll begin to develop your own answers to these fundamental questions.

We’ll explore the thoughts of some of history’s greatest thinkers, starting with Kant and his project of self-enquiry. You'll journey through idealist philosophers like Hegel, and into the realm of depth psychology with Freud and Jung, gaining insights into the nature of the mind, spirit, freedom—and ultimately, yourself.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

THE MIC PHILOSOPHY

  • An overview of the human journey through the lens of idealist philosophy and depth psychology.

  • A model of the mind and its dynamics to deepen your self-understanding.

"There is in every person a certain feeling that they have been what they are from all eternity, and by no means become such in time."
FRIEDRICH SCHELLING
"The ignorant man is not free, because what confronts him is an alien world, something outside him...on which he depends."
GEORG HEGEL
"Knowledge of the self is the mother of all knowledge. So it is incumbent on me to know my self, to know it completely, to know its minutiae, its characteristics, its subtleties, and its very atoms."
